🔎 Exploring the Client & Projects Tab
You’ll find the new Clients & Projects tab inside the Reports area of Timely. It’s a brand-new view built right into the Reporting Dashboard—no extra configuration or setup needed.
Just head to Reports from the main menu, and you’ll see Client & Projects listed as one of the available tabs. Selecting it will open a table view where you can explore totals for each client and project across your selected date range.
The table then shows totals for logged time, money, costs, or profit, depending on your metric selection. Clients are listed first and can be expanded to view underlying projects. Projects are nested by default to keep things organized and easy to scan.
🛠️ Making the Most of the Clients & Projects Tab
While the Clients & Projects tab is designed to be simple, a few small tweaks can help you get even more value out of it.
1️⃣ First, remember that you can use the date picker to define the range you want to review—whether that’s a specific month, quarter, or even a custom date range.
Your table will automatically adjust between daily, weekly, or monthly views depending on what you choose in the Options menu:
2️⃣ Second, you can filter which clients appear in the table. This is especially useful if you’re managing a large portfolio and want to focus on a few key accounts. Filtering by client helps you zoom in on what’s most important without distraction.
🏁 Finally, when reviewing your metrics, keep in mind that the table focuses on total values, high-level summaries for each selected period. You can choose from the following metrics to display at any one time:
Metric | Description |
Time | Total hours tracked per client/project |
Money | Total billable amount logged |
Cost | Total internal cost of labor based on assigned rates |
Profit | Difference between money logged and costs |
